Cross the Tagus River to the south back as you cross over the 25th of April Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril). The Arrábida Mountain is a green wonder open to the Atlantic with a Mediterranean atmosphere. On the way to this beautiful place (it has an appliance to become an UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Exiting the surrounding suburbs of Lisbon, we go to Setubal, where we will be starting our dolphin watching boat ride. Prepare yourself for a great time as you watch the local bottle-nose dolphins in the Sado Estuary on a scenic cruise from Setubal. Benefit from the explanations of marine biologist about the environment and the area biodiversity. And if the weather conditions allow, get a cool swim in the calm and crystal-clear waters.
Afterwards we go to lunch in Setubal (not included). From here we go on a panoramic ride along the Arrábida Mountain, passing by beautiful forest areas and vineyards where some of the best muscat wines are produced. Try the traditional pastry of Azeitão, called “Torta de Azeitão” and a local Muscat wine (Moscatel de Setúbal). Next stop is the fishing village of Sesimbra with its impressive 12th century castle watching the bay from atop.
Finally we go towards the Espichel Cape, a location better known for its raw beauty and its 18th century sanctuary of Our Lady of the Cape. This is a protected area and you can also see a dinosaur footprint track.
